Project Overview
The Newcastle High School redevelopment delivered a modern, multi storey secondary education facility designed to support contemporary teaching and learning environments.
Delivered by Hansen Yuncken, the project forms part of the NSW Government’s investment in upgrading public education infrastructure across regional NSW. The redevelopment includes new learning hubs, specialist classrooms, administration areas and shared student facilities designed to accommodate growing enrolments and flexible learning models.
Scope of Works (Cleaning)
• Internal builder’s clean of new classroom blocks, specialist learning spaces and administration areas.
• Detailed final clean of science laboratories, technology rooms, amenities and staff facilities.
• High detail cleaning of glazing, joinery, stairwells, balustrades and floor finishes across multi storey buildings.
• Cleaning of common areas including libraries, halls, breakout spaces and circulation zones.
• External cleaning of façades, glazing and surrounding hard landscaping prior to handover.
• Staged cleaning aligned with programme milestones and Department of Education inspections.
Challenges & Solutions
• Multi storey construction required coordinated vertical access planning and structured zone sequencing.
• Specialist learning environments such as laboratories and technology rooms required careful cleaning of sensitive fixtures and installed equipment.
• Tight programme deadlines ahead of school occupation required responsive resourcing and close coordination with Hansen Yuncken’s site management team.
Outcome
The final clean supported successful staged handover of the new Newcastle High School facilities.
The project was delivered in alignment with Hansen Yuncken’s construction programme, ensuring presentation standards suitable for immediate occupation by students and staff.
