Project Overview
Delivered by Hansen Yuncken, the Pathways project comprised the construction of a new purpose built aged care facility designed to provide high quality residential accommodation and support services.
The development included 120 private resident rooms with ensuites, communal dining and lounge areas, nurse stations, clinical spaces, administration areas and landscaped external zones, all constructed to meet contemporary aged care and compliance standards.
Scope of Works (Cleaning)
• Internal builder’s clean of 120 resident rooms and ensuites, corridors, nurse stations and administration areas.
• Detailed final clean of clinical rooms, treatment areas, commercial kitchen facilities and shared living spaces.
• High detail cleaning of glazing, joinery, fixtures, floor finishes and specialist aged care fittings throughout the facility.
• External cleaning of façades, glazing and surrounding hard landscaping areas.
• Staged cleaning aligned with programme milestones and pre commissioning inspections.
Challenges & Solutions
• Aged care environments require elevated presentation and hygiene standards. Structured quality inspections and zone based sign offs were implemented prior to handover.
• Cleaning 120 rooms within programme timeframes required disciplined sequencing, area allocation and strong supervisory oversight to maintain consistent quality.
• The mix of clinical, residential and hospitality style finishes required varied cleaning methodologies across different zones of the facility.
Outcome
The final clean supported successful staged handover of the 120 room aged care facility, delivered to a standard suitable for immediate occupation and operational commissioning.
